Makeup Collection: Highlights!
Time for my favorite part of my makeup collection (other than palettes): highlighters! These are pretty hard to get a good picture of, so if I take better ones, I will update the pictures in this post. So here we go (in no particular order)!
1. Ofra x Dupe That $24.95 each
The top swatch is You Dew You, and the bottom is You Glow Girl. Use code kathleen40 for 40% off!
When I first saw swatches of these highlighters, I knew I would have to get one. I love the Dupe That page on Instagram (@dupethat) and I love Ofra Cosmetics (their liquid lipsticks are holy grail!). The first one I got was You Dew You because I was unsure if You Glow Girl would look good on me. You Dew You is the perfect highlight for people who don't like to have too much. It is very buildable, especially if you add a cream highlight underneath. After watching Kathleen Lights' video where she showed these, I knew I would have to get You Glow Girl as well. I think it may be my favorite out of the two. It is so beautiful on the cheekbones and makes the highlight truly "on fleek". I highly recommend them, especially because you can get them for 40% off!
2. Becca Afterglow Palette $39.50
Top to bottom: Moonstone, Rose Gold, Topaz
Like most people, I love Becca Highlights. My obsession started with Champagne Pop, which will be shown next. These highlights are so soft (which you have to be careful with because they shatter easily). They are very pigmented as well.
3. Becca Highlights $38
Top to bottom: Champagne Pop, Rose Gold, Opal Poured, Opal Liquid, Opal Pressed
Like I said for the Afterglow Palette, I LOVE these highlights. Champagne Pop is my absolute favorite (tied with another i'll mention later). I highly recommend getting Champagne Pop before you can't again (although I feel like they should make it permanent). The next one that I am going to try is Pearl!
4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators $28
Top swatch is Peach Nectar and So Hollywood.
I originally was only going to get one due to them being kind of pricey. I first got Peach Nectar, but decided to get So Hollywood because Peach Nectar is better for those who are more tan (so more of a summer highlight for me). Both swatch beautifully and are very gorgeous on as well. So Hollywood is definitely one of my favorites.
5. Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck $21
I know this is an eyeshadow, but ask any beauty guru who has it, and they have probably used it as a highlight. This shadow is so soft and so pigmented. It is absolutely gorgeous.
6. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Golden $12.99
I did not even want to try the powder highlights in this line, because I heard they are terrible. However, this liquid highlight is perfect for summer. It blends okay, but better if you use a little bit at a time. It is super pigmented and is great if you set it with a powder highlight.
7. NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic $8.99
This was one of my first highlights. I don't use it super often because the texture is a little chalky and it doesn't blend as well, but this is a still an okay highlight.
8. Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer in Ethereal $22.95
I received this in an Ipsy bag, and I love it. This is a gorgeous pink champagne color and is perfect to layer a powder highlight on top. It blends so good as well.
9. The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer $24
Now this is a true example of saving the best for last. This highlight is a cult favorite, and for good reason. This highlight is definitely my favorite, along with Champagne Pop, and it is absolutely gorgeous. It is a white gold type color, and flatters so many skin tones. If you were to have only one highlight, this should be it.
Well thank you for taking the time to read this, and I will be posting a get ready with me video later after I edit it! Until next time! As always, let me know in the comments what you would like me to post about!
